Have you ever tried to hide something?
Matthew 21:28-32 - make some observations (this is the only Gospel that has this parable)
Proposition - As we continue in our study this morning we are going see 1) the setting, 2) the responses, 3) the challenge, and 4) the explanation.
Interrogative question - Where is your heart at?

1. The Setting - vs. 28

28 “But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first and said, ‘Son, go work today in the vineyard.’
Why does Jesus pose a question?
Who is Jesus talking too?

2. The Responses - vs. 29-30

Matthew 21:29–30 NASB95
29 “And he answered, ‘I will not’; but afterward he regretted it and went. 30 “The man came to the second and said the same thing; and he answered, ‘I will, sir’; but he did not go.
Are the sons responses surprising?

3. The Challenge - vs. 31

Matthew 21:31 NASB95
31 “Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said, “The first.” Jesus said to them, “Truly I say to you that the tax collectors and prostitutes will get into the kingdom of God before you.
What do you think that Jesus is trying to do?
What is His goal?
How would you feel if you were the ones that Jesus is talking too?

4. The Explanation - vs. 32

32 “For John came to you in the way of righteousness and you did not believe him; but the tax collectors and prostitutes did believe him; and you, seeing this, did not even feel remorse afterward so as to believe him.
What is Jesus point?
Is Jesus calling them out based on their lifestyles? why or why not?
